Overview

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust invite applications for the position of Theatre Scrub Team Leader for our site at Bishop Auckland General Hospital.

The closing date is 06 October 2025.

Our Theatre team are friendly and supportive, encouraging professional development to enhance skills and professional competence. The departmental Practice Development team, in coordination with the Theatre Management team, support staff to identify and realise areas for career progression.

Main duties of the job

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prioritise daily activities to respond to changing circumstances, providing a seamless service to users.
  • Develop work plans and allocate work, consistent with departmental objectives, ensuring these are realistic and achievable, taking into account multidisciplinary team members abilities and developmental needs.
  • Contribute to recruitment and retention using agreed methods and protocols for staffing and skill mix.
  • Objectively assess the work of multidisciplinary team members, providing clear constructive feedback to improve/maintain performance.
  • Contribute to the ongoing audit cycle to identify issues arising during the perioperative phase and participate in implementing measures to address these issues.
  • Participate in direct care needs of the patient, providing expert knowledge of clinical specialities and acting as a role model.
  • Monitor the standards of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
  • Be proactive with audit and monitoring of documentation to ensure it is produced in accordance with Trust policy and NMC/HCPC guidelines.
  • Monitor clinical practice.
