Job Title: Scrub Practitioner ENT and/or Urology (RN/ODP)

Location: Central Belt, Scotland.

Job Type: Long-term Block booking

Head Medical is delighted to be working with an established client in the Central Belt of Scotland. We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate scrub practitioners to join our team, focusing on ENT and Urology. You will play a crucial role inensuring safe execution of surgical procedures and work as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities for the role:

  • Check surgical equipment: Ensure all equipment is in working order and present in the operating theatre
  • Sterile environment: Maintain a strict scrubbing up regime, wearing surgical masks, goggles, sterile gowns, and gloves appropriately
  • Preparation of surgical instruments: Prepare and handle surgical instruments during procedures
  • Swab and instrument counts: Prevent retained foreign objects by conducting accurate swab and instrument counts
  • Perioperative documentation: Complete necessary documentation throughout the perioperative period
  • Waste disposal: Dispose of used instruments, waste, and soiled linen correctly

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with full registration with HCPC/NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council – UK) and no restrictions on practice.
  • Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience within an operating theatre.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with a compassionate and patient-centred approach to care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
