Job description

Up to £15.50 per hour + Holiday and Pension

Title: Scribe/Admin Support Worker to Disabled Staff Member

Location: Vauxhall, London (minimum 2 days per week in the office)

Duration of Contract: Until March 2026

Note: To be considered, you must successfully complete SC Enhanced clearance before starting the role.

Description of Role:

This full-time role involves working an average of 37 hours per week, with some flexibility required based on business needs. You will support the business manager of an estate relocation project, who has cerebral palsy and needs assistance to perform her work. Your responsibilities include facilitating tasks she cannot do herself, such as taking instructions, live or recorded dictation, and minutes. You will work in line with her schedule, including leave, and the role is based in Spring Gardens, moving to Stratford in 2025. The contractor cannot claim for excess fares or relocation costs.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  1. Touch typing from live oral dictation or audio files in various formats (emails, PowerPoints, diagrams, text, bullet points, spreadsheets, etc.)
  2. Performing admin duties like booking travel, printing documents, and using HR and digital request platforms
  3. Proficiency in Office 365, Windows 11, MS Teams, and SharePoint for remote work and document management
  4. Managing the diary and inbox of the business manager, including scheduling meetings, organizing emails, and distributing agendas
  5. Taking accurate notes during meetings or courses, with understanding and paraphrasing skills
  6. Updating databases, action logs, and tracking tasks such as briefings and correspondence
  7. Proofreading and editing documents for spelling, grammar, and layout

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Personable, flexible, patient, and capable of working 1:1 with an individual
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, able to write or type under instruction and read large texts
  • Touch typing at a minimum of 60 WPM
  • Experienced in minute-taking and/or secretarial roles
  • Experience working 1:1
  • Existing SC clearance

Interview Process:

All candidates meeting the mandatory requirements will have an interview with the business manager, including a skills and experience discussion and practical dictation activities.

Vetting Requirements:

Candidates must provide evidence of their UK footprint, having been in the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years. Checks include departmental records, criminal records, and credit history. Failure to meet residency requirements will result in rejection.
