Responsibilities

• Set up and operate screen-printing presses to produce images on substrates.
• Monitor product quality throughout each print run.
• Control the printing process and make operational adjustments.
• Prepare work including colour matching where required.
• Maintain press performance and report faults or maintenance needs.
• Complete works orders and use computer-based production systems.
• Record and review performance measures, including yield analysis and control charts.
• Support product engineering and collaborate with the wider manufacturing team.

Job description

Personnel Selection Recruitment is helping our client to source candidates for a permanent Screen Printer / Machine Operator position based near Stockbridge.

This opportunity is open both to fully trained Screen Printers and also to capable machine operators who have the potential to develop into the role. The starting salary is £28,000 per annum for a candidate without screen-printing experience, rising up to £32,000 per annum for a fully trained Screen Printer. Salary is fully dependent on experience. If you do not already have a background in the print industry, you must as a minimum to be considered have come from a Machine Operation role, ideally from engineering.

ABOUT YOU

• Experienced Screen Printer, or an experienced machine operator who can demonstrate the potential to learn screen printing.
• A manufacturing background and experience of working as part of a team.
• A strong eye for detail, accurate colour recognition and a commitment to quality.
• A positive, flexible approach and willingness to contribute to business and personal objectives.
• Comfortable following works orders, production procedures and health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Basic confidence using PC-based systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up and operate screen-printing presses to produce graphical images on a variety of substrates.
• Monitor product quality throughout each print run.
• Control the printing process and make appropriate operational adjustments.
• Prepare work for printing, including colour matching where required.
• Maintain press performance and report faults or maintenance needs.
• Complete works orders and use computer-based production systems.
• Record and review performance measures, including yield analysis and control charts.
• Support product engineering and work collaboratively with the wider manufacturing team.

WORKING HOURS AND PACKAGE

• Permanent position.
• Basic 38 hour working week across five days. No weekend.
• Additional hours may occasionally be required to meet operational needs of which a uplift in pay is available.
• Salary of £28,000-£32,000 per annum, dependent on experience and screen-printing capability.
• Structured opportunity for an experienced machine operator to develop specialist and niche screen-printing skills.
