Job summary

4Wall Entertainment, in Hertford, seeks a Screen Prep Technician to join our UK warehouse team. You will prepare, test, configure and ready video equipment (screens, media servers, cameras) for deployment to projects across the business.

Based at the Hertford warehouse with occasional short-term travel to Harlow, you will inspect, maintain and book equipment using the asset management system; keep records accurate and support the wider team as required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check video equipment for upcoming projects.
• Inspect, test, clean and maintain equipment including PAT testing and cables.
• Scan and book equipment to jobs using the asset management system.
• Pull, organise and stage equipment for jobs in prep area.
• Check equipment back into system after returns; maintain inventory records.
• Configure media servers, comms systems, networks, IO matrices and camera channels to specs.
• Read video schematics and build media server racks as required.
• Carry out general maintenance and basic repairs for reliability.
• Keep software licences up to date.
• Monitor spare parts and consumables; report shortages.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment per Health & Safety standards.
• Produce job documentation as required.
• Support wider warehouse team with stock takes and loading/unloading vehicles.

We are seeking a Screen Prep Technician to join our UK warehouse team and play a key role in ensuring our video equipment is prepared, tested, configured, and ready for deployment to projects across the business. This is a hands on technical role covering screens, media servers, cameras, networking, and associated video equipment.

The role will be based at our Hertford warehouse. Occasional travel to our Harlow premises, may be required short term to support operational requirements and projects. Travel costs associated with this transition will be covered by the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and check video equipment for upcoming projects, including cameras, media servers, screens and video control equipment.
• Inspect, test, clean and maintain equipment, including PAT testing, controls, inputs, outputs, cables, accessories and flight cases.
• Scan and book equipment to jobs using the asset management system.
• Pull, organise and stage equipment for jobs within the prep area.
• Check equipment back into the system following job returns, ensuring accurate inventory records.
• Configure media servers, comms systems, networks, input/output matrices and camera channels to job specifications.
• Read video schematics and build media server racks as required.
• Carry out general maintenance and basic repairs to ensure equipment reliability.
• Keep software licences up to date.
• Monitor spare parts and consumables, reporting shortages promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment, following Health & Safety standards.
• Produce job documentation as required.
• Support the wider warehouse team, including stock takes, equipment organisation, and loading and unloading vehicles.
