A local authority organization in London is seeking passionate individuals for a SCPHN training opportunity focused on children and young people's health. Candidates will gain hands-on experience while completing a funded postgraduate program. SCPHN students must demonstrate:
Enrolment in a NMC-approved SCPHN School Nursing postgraduate programme (e.g., University of Greenwich) requires dedication to completing academic study and supervised practice during the 52-week full-time course. This includes managing assignments, presentations, critical reflections, case studies, and possibly a public health project.
Proficiency in written and verbal English, with strong academic writing and critical analysis skills, is essential. During training, students are placed in community settings across Newham, engaging fully with practical training under supervision.

Since 2017, Newham has offered fully integrated 0-19 health and social care services. The Children's Health Service was rated 'Good' in the 2021 CQC inspection. The borough offers sponsorship for qualified Nurses and Midwives to complete the SCPHN qualification at level 7, fully funded by NHSE. Successful candidates will be paid PO1 (AFC Band 5 equivalent) and can start in January 2026 at the University of Greenwich.
