A leading healthcare provider in Glasgow is seeking a SCPHN School Nurse to manage a caseload and deliver essential health interventions for children and young people in the community. This role requires a master's level qualification and NMC registration. Working hours are Monday to Friday, with opportunities for learning and development. Driving license preferred but not mandatory.

This post is an opportunity for a SCPHN School nurse to work in Glasgow City School health service. Working out of Pollok Health Centre and undertaking work in surrounding South Locality. The post holder will hold SCPHN master’s level qualification ( Post Reg) with key responsibilities for a caseload and intervention work with children and young people who are referred to the Service. The post holder is expected to work within a large team Monday- Friday 0830-1630 4 days ( day 5 830-1600) 37 hrs per week with opportunities for further learning and development as part of the Transforming Nursing roles strategy as well as the Learning and Development Plan for GGC. Skills around delivery of emotional health and wellbeing interventions are needed including anxiety management work ( Let’s introduce Anxiety Management) as well as Child Protection knowledge and skills . Caseload management, clinical supervision and child protection supervision will form part of the supports provided within the Team as well as professional and operational support from an aligned Team leader. Skills and knowledge around the role of the Practice supervisor and assessor for pre reg students is also required but this can be supported via in house training as well as further learning to support ScPHN students.
The successful candidate must have NMC Registration RM/RMN, Specialist Community Public Health Nurse( School Nurse) qualification which is Part 3 of the NMC Specialist register , Disclosure Scotland ( PVG) and any additional post graduate qualification and skills. It would be advantageous to have a driving licence due to face to face work within the community , schools and homes but is not essential
