We’re at our brightest when we’re all together. Our Club, our teams, our community.

The Role
Purpose

As a Scouting Insights Analyst, you will play a key role in shaping the club’s player recruitment strategy through data-driven analysis and insight. You will join a progressive Football Insights department, working closely with scouts, recruitment staff and football leadership to identify, evaluate and monitor talent across global markets. Your job is to turn complex football data into actionable intelligence that helps the club make better recruitment decisions.

The department’s mission is to understand football better than our rivals and turn that understanding into decisions that win matches and trophies. We achieve this by combining innovative quantitative methods, football expertise and cutting-edge technology to create a competitive advantage in talent identification, player evaluation and squad building.

In this role, you will act as the bridge between advanced data analysis and scouting operations, embedding evidence-based practice throughout the recruitment process. You will develop and apply statistical models to identify emerging talent, evaluate player performance and uncover market opportunities that align with the club’s football methodology and long-term strategic objectives.

You will work on exploratory and research-driven projects using event and tracking data that challenge conventional thinking and generate new knowledge for the scouting department. Your insights will directly influence recruitment strategy, support critical decision-making and help ensure the club remains at the forefront of player identification and assessment.

This is an opportunity to work with one of the richest and most complex datasets in professional sport, contributing to decisions that shape the future of the club. You will have the autonomy to explore new ideas, develop innovative approaches to player analysis and play a meaningful role in building a world‑class recruitment operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage advanced statistical analysis and football data to identify, monitor and evaluate player targets across global markets, delivering actionable recommendations that support the club’s recruitment strategy and long-term squad planning
  • Design, develop and enhance data-driven scouting tools and workflows that improve the efficiency, consistency and effectiveness of player identification and evaluation processes
  • Produce high-quality reports, visualisations and presentations that translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for scouts, recruitment staff and football leadership
  • Lead exploratory research projects with a high degree of autonomy, investigating emerging trends, market dynamics and strategic recruitment questions to generate new knowledge and uncover competitive advantages
  • Apply innovative quantitative methods to answer complex football questions, build new approaches to player assessment and develop insights that help the club stay ahead of the market
  • Help to educate the recruitment department about new metrics and data best practices to ensure that scouting are utilizing all tools correctly
Collaboration and Support
  • Partner closely with data scientists and data engineers to shape the development of analytical models, providing football domain expertise and feedback to improve their relevance, robustness and practical application
  • Partner closely with recruitment stakeholders to embed analytical models and insights into scouting workflows, ensuring outputs are accessible, actionable and aligned with player recruitment needs
Continuous Learning and Development
  • Continuously explore new datasets, methodologies and technologies that can strengthen the club’s understanding of player performance, potential and market opportunities
  • Learn and implement new tools and techniques to enhance data reporting workflows
  • Engage with the football analytics community to understand evolving data needs and technologies
The Person

We are looking for a curious and analytically driven football thinker who is passionate about using data to improve recruitment decisions. The right person will combine strong technical and statistical expertise with a deep understanding of football, allowing them to transform complex data into insights that scouts, recruitment staff and football leadership can act upon with confidence.
