Job summary

Code Your Future is seeking a mid-level Community Builder for Glasgow to develop a self-organising, accountable volunteer and trainee community. The role is part-time (16 hours a week) with a 12-month fixed-term contract and hybrid work, requiring presence one day per week at the Glasgow hub and one Saturday class per month during active cohorts.

You will empower trainees, volunteers, and alumni to create impact, drive regional outreach, and improve retention through data-informed engagement

Qualifications

• Proven experience in volunteer management, community organising, non‑profit coordination, or public-facing program delivery.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to build trust across diverse backgrounds.
• Comfortable using operational tools, spreadsheets, and CRMs to track metrics and intervene early when participation dips.
• Strong organisational talent to run seamless, engaging in-person local events and activities.
• Deep passion for access to opportunities, tech equity, and social mobility.

Responsibilities

• Foster Volunteer Ownership: Recruit, onboard, and retain skilled volunteers to deliver high-value volunteering while developing their skills.
• Empower Trainee Agency: Create a safe, transparent environment where trainees own their learning and responsibilities.
• Nurture an Active Alumni Network: Mobilise graduates into a sustainable regional network of mentors, speakers, and ambassadors.
• Optimise Operations & Retention: Track engagement patterns, analyse data, and design proactive support to boost course completion.
• Champion Regional Outreach: Represent CYF at local meetups and events with clear, action-oriented communication.
