Investment Manager / Director – Growth Lending

Location: Scotland, UK (Relocation required)

The Firm

Our client is a premier global private credit platform with several billion in assets under management. Recognised as a market leader in providing bespoke, non-dilutive capital solutions, the firm partners with high-growth, sponsor-backed companies across Europe. Backed by top-tier institutional investors and known for its execution excellence, the firm invests across the capital structure with a focus on flexible, value-added credit strategies.

The Opportunity

The firm is looking to hire an experienced and commercially driven Investment Director to join its Growth Lending team, based in Scotland. This is a senior front-office role offering full exposure across the investment lifecycle — from origination and structuring through to execution and portfolio management. The successful candidate will play a critical role in expanding the platform and managing relationships with sponsors, founders, and intermediaries.

Relocation to Scotland is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of investments, including structuring, due diligence, documentation, and negotiations
  • Source and originate new opportunities through a strong network of sponsors, advisors, and founders
  • Develop and maintain deep sector knowledge and stay abreast of market trends
  • Present investment cases to the Investment Committee and contribute to broader strategic decisions
  • Mentor and oversee junior team members, supporting their professional growth
  • Drive portfolio monitoring efforts, value creation initiatives, and exit processes

Candidate Profile

  • 8–12 years of relevant experience in private credit, direct lending, structured finance, or leveraged finance
  • Proven track record of originating and executing credit investments, ideally in the growth or lower mid-market space
  • Deep expertise in credit risk assessment, structuring, and legal documentation
  • Strong external network and credibility with sponsors, founders, and advisors
  • Strategic thinker with a collaborative, low-ego, team-first approach
  • Strong academic credentials from a leading university or business school
