Oracle Consulting - SCM Architect Role

Within Oracle Consulting, our pillar architects own the architectural design of Oracle pillar solutions for prospective and existing customers. They also develop ‘go to market solutions’ for the marketplace. These senior roles serve as the link between Oracle sales and delivery teams.

The SCM Architect ensures solution architecture feasibility and mitigates risk by leveraging a network of subject matter experts across domains. They can propose customer roadmaps to realize the proposed solutions. We seek an experienced SCM Architect focused on functional SCM process architecture and solution architecture across all SCM disciplines. Broader Oracle ERP application knowledge is desirable but not essential.

Scope of the Role

The SCM Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting business solutions leveraging Oracle SCM Cloud.

  • Lead the development of complex SCM solutions on client-billable and pre-sales assignments.
  • Collaborate with sales and delivery teams to ensure solutions are sellable, deliverable, and profitable. Capable of leading solution development on SCM cloud strategies, architectures, and roadmaps with clients.
Responsibilities
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior clients.
  • Develop compelling, profitable, and deliverable customer solutions with Oracle and clients.
  • Maintain commercial acumen when engaging and advising clients.
  • Represent Oracle application solutions throughout customer engagements.
  • Work closely with clients, sales, pre-sales, and delivery teams to develop robust architectures.
  • Own best practices within your competency area across the strategic SCM footprint.
  • Build strong relationships with SCM product lines and advise on competency requirements in cooperation with delivery management.
  • Take full accountability for architectural solutions in pre-sales opportunities or projects.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Oracle partners and colleagues in SCM product development.
  • Manage knowledge sharing and re-use within your competency area.
  • Provide sales awareness to Oracle Consulting teams.
  • Engage profitably with counterparts across the EMEA region.
Knowledge and Competency Requirements
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience with solid understanding of SCM business practices.
  • Over 10 years of experience with SCM solutions, including business process analysis, systems analysis, design, and solution delivery.
  • Functional knowledge of major supply chain, manufacturing, or procurement processes.
  • Creative, agile problem-solving skills.
  • Experience planning and leading architecture/design sessions, with at least 4 complete implementation cycles.
  • Experience working with third-party resources, including offshore teams.
  • Proven leadership managing internal teams, third-party integrators, and vendors.
  • Strong team-building skills and ability to work with distributed teams.
  • Awareness of cloud vs. on-premise solutions and their benefits.

The role involves analyzing business needs to ensure Oracle solutions meet objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. The individual operates at the forefront of technology, recommending enhancements, leading complex projects, influencing leadership decisions, and driving customer process direction based on industry expertise. They create new solutions based on industry needs, market demands, and competitive insights.
