Learning Support Assistants to include Personal and Medical Care Support

Salary: B Band - £24,027 - £24,790 (pro-rata) / £18,092 – £18,667 (Actual Salary) (subject to qualifications and experience)

Post: Fixed Term until 31st August 2026

Start date: ASAP

Overview

A fantastic opportunity to work across Forest Oak and Merstone Schools, both Ofsted rated outstanding. Ideal for those starting a career in SEND education and care, supporting children aged 3-19 with various SEND needs across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the day-to-day education and care of pupils with SEND, including MLS, SLD, PMLD, ASD, and ADHD.
  • Support pupils' interaction and play, ensuring they feel valued.
  • Work flexibly across different sites and age groups, gaining diverse experience.
Candidate Requirements
  • High multitasking ability in a busy environment.
  • Calm, sensitive, patient, tolerant, and humorous approach.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills.
  • Resilience to manage mental and physical challenges.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and work as part of a team.

Working Hours and Days

8.30 – 3.30, Monday to Friday. Up to 8 roles available, working 2-5 days per week. Applicants should specify preferred days in their application.

Essential/Desirable Qualifications:

  • NNEB/NVQ 2/BTEC or relevant childcare/healthcare qualification (desirable).
  • GCSE Maths & English Pass or equivalent, NVQ Level 2 (essential).
  • SEN experience (desirable).
  • Experience working with children (desirable).
  • Ability to collaborate with parents and professionals (essential).
  • Medical care experience and First Aid knowledge (desirable).
