Title: Scientist -Research and Development - Drug Delivery

Who You Are:

We are seeking an experienced drug delivery/ excipient scientist to join our team. The candidate should have experience developing novel dosage forms for the optimal delivery of small molecule drugs and/or supplements. Experience in developing technologies to improve solubility, absorption and PK are critical. Experience in oral, buccal and sublingual formulation development are a must.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design formulations for solid dosage forms in nutraceutical/ natural products
  • Manage multiple development projects and develop formulations in a timely manner
  • Write protocols, master manufacturing records, and product development reports.
  • Provide support to production in process improvement and troubleshooting.
  • Stays current with recent advances and trends in the drug delivery technology and regulatory policies.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Senior Management.
  • Optimize emulsion formulations to achieve minimal flavor impact while maintaining excellent stability and functionality.
  • Design and optimize emulsification processes including high-pressure homogenization, sonication, and other advanced emulsification techniques
  • Scale emulsion processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial production scales.
  • Document bench scale processes and aggregate data for presentation and evaluation by R&D, Production and Senior Leadership teams.


What You’ll Bring:

  • MS or Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or chemical engineering
  • Experience with formulation equipment such as blender, fluid bed dryer, high shear granulator, tablet press and other such equipment.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced manufacturing facility with unlimited career growth potential.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical R&D formulation or similar

Massachusetts Hiring Range

$90,000 - $100,000 USD
