Scientist - Mass Spectrometry - Life Science - 12-Month Contract

We are looking for an experienced Mass Spectrometry Scientist for a fantastic 12-Month contract based in Berkshire.

Working with our client, a global biopharmaceutical organisation committed to improving the lives of people afflicted with neurological and immunological disease.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis of protein therapeutics using mass spectrometric techniques
  • Tackle scientific problems
  • Keep accurate records and contribute to authorship of analytical aspects of regulatory submissions, technical procedures, protocols and reports
  • Research specific analytical protocols (literature) and keep aware of latest analytical techniques
  • Assay and instrument troubleshooting
  • Ensure lab equipment is properly maintained and functioning properly; initiate appropriate repair and maintenance
  • Ensure appropriate lab material and consumables availability
  • Lead experimental design and interpretation of results
  • Utilise a range of mass spectrometry technologies
  • Interpret results, draw conclusions and make recommendations
  • Ensure data is captured appropriately in submission ready reports
  • Requirements:
  • PhD or several years laboratory experience or equivalent in academic or industrial setting using mass spectrometry
  • Mass spectrometry expertise
  • Self-management, priority setting and planning skills
  • Establishes/maintains working relationships, sensitive to group dynamics
  • Excellent in relevant IT solutions
  • Very good English literacy
  • Work independently
