4basebio is an innovative gene synthesis company committed to providing high-quality synthetic DNA for gene therapy and gene editing platforms. We are expanding our MSAT team at our site just north of Cambridge, UK, to facilitate the purification of synthetic DNA products for use in AAV, IVT mRNA processes, and other therapeutic areas. We seek dynamic and experienced team members to help us achieve our goals.

Role Objectives:

The role involves supporting the development, optimisation, and validation of new products within the company. There will be opportunities to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the Research department and to expand laboratory skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and optimise new and existing DNA products.
2. Perform screening and optimisation experiments using 4basebio DNA.
3. Generate documentation such as reports and experimental write-ups to support development and optimisation processes.
4. Support troubleshooting activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
5. Develop and optimise manufacturing processes within MSAT to ensure successful DNA product production.
6. Analyse experimental data.
7. Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams.
8. Record experimental methods and results in accordance with company guidelines.
9. Present data effectively in internal meetings.
10. Stay updated with relevant scientific and technical developments.
11. Participate in meetings, training, and development sessions.
12. Maintain and operate equipment following SOPs and health & safety guidelines.
13. Perform additional roles as reasonably required, including travel to other 4basebio sites.

Person Specification:

1. BSc in biological sciences or a related discipline.
2. Experience in experimental planning, design, and data analysis.
3. Practical experience with techniques such as gel electrophoresis, DNA & RNA handling, and DNA quantification.
4. Strong knowledge of molecular biology techniques.
5. Confidence in pipetting techniques.
6. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
7. Legal right to work in the UK.
