Job Summary

Our manufacturing site in Keele is offering an opportunity for a Scientist.

Reporting to the Downstream Senior Scientist, the Scientist will be responsible for planning and executing analytical assays to support in-house and contracted programs within the MSAT team. The role also involves developing or transferring analytical methods and supporting wider processing activities within the team, including upstream, downstream, and molecular biology.

What You'll Be Doing:
  1. Contributing to project planning and technology transfers by estimating resources and schedules.
  2. Executing and completing assigned projects and operations on time.
  3. Interpreting data and communicating results verbally and in writing.
  4. Assessing data impact and relevance to process development or production.
  5. Performing operations following training, maintaining training records, and updating manuals.
  6. Assisting in the transfer and development of new techniques within MSAT and other areas.
  7. Generating study plans, technical reports, SOPs, and Batch Records.
  8. Participating in project teams and reporting work in meetings.
  9. Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in lab notebooks and other records.
  10. Being part of multidisciplinary teams across process development.
  11. Training less experienced staff in techniques.
  12. Leading project execution and process runs within their skill area.
  13. Participating in and leading investigation teams as needed.
Skills and Experience:
  • A degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or equivalent.
  • Practical laboratory or process experience in an academic or industrial setting.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and contingency skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Practical expertise in their area of specialization.
