Scientist, Analytical Sciences_QC Microbiology

Job Introduction

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Scientist to join our QC Microbiology team, supporting internal and client-facing biologics projects. The role involves ensuring high laboratory standards and delivering timely, high-quality microbiological testing and documentation.

This position is ideal for someone passionate about scientific rigor, collaboration, and advancing QC capabilities in a fast-paced environment.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Set exemplary standards in laboratory and facility operations, complying with Development, Quality, and EHS policies.
  • Support project leads in delivering work packages through planning, design, execution, and reporting within the QC Microbiology labs, meeting project timelines.
  • Prepare and execute documentation such as development reports, SOPs, validation reports, and test records with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives like 5S and operational excellence.
  • Lead validation and implementation of new capital equipment, and train team members in procedures and technologies.
  • Analyze data meticulously, ensuring protocol and procedure compliance, and manage related QMS activities.
  • Complete laboratory documentation promptly and participate in review processes for quality assurance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Microbiology, including contamination control and GMP analysis.

Requirements:

  • BSc/MSc in a relevant life sciences field with biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical experience.
  • Industry experience in biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical microbiology, including facility and product testing, equipment qualification, and validation.
  • Proficiency in microbiology techniques such as Environmental Monitoring, LAL testing, Gram Staining, Water testing, and Bioburden testing.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques for experimental design and data analysis.
