Role Overview

The successful candidate will characterize biotherapeutic recombinant T-cell receptor-based molecules and related products using protein characterization and mass spectrometry methods. Responsibilities include developing and supporting characterization methods such as peptide mapping (LC-MS/MS) and intact mass spectrometry analysis, as well as contributing to process development and study documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supporting drug substance and drug product impurity characterization and identification.
  2. Performing protein sequence analysis and post-translational modification identification, including glycosylation analysis.
  3. Supporting process development through characterization of process intermediates.
  4. Contributing to method development for ImmTAX and other products.
  5. Writing study protocols and reports.
  6. Planning experiments, managing deadlines, and advising on risks and deviations.
  7. Expanding scientific knowledge through continuous learning and peer mentoring.
  8. Maintaining accurate laboratory records and ensuring effective use of equipment.
  9. Presenting research findings to colleagues, management, and partners.
  10. Adhering to safe laboratory practices according to Immunocore policies.
Person Specification
Experience & Knowledge (Essential)
  • At least 2 years of industry experience in recombinant protein or antibody analytical development or QC.
  • Experience developing HPLC-based methods for recombinant proteins or antibodies.
  • Experience with LC-MS method development.
  • Proficiency in bio-pharmaceutical/biochemistry laboratory practices, including buffer and reagent design, routine procedures, and troubleshooting.
  • Expertise in electrophoretic, chromatographic, and mass spectrometry techniques.
  • Knowledge of assay qualification/validation principles and GMP standards.
Desirable
  • Understanding of stability studies and glycosylation analysis.
  • Experience in method transfer and external collaborations.
  • Conference presentation experience.
  • Knowledge supporting clinical trial materials.
Education & Qualifications
  • Essential: BSc or MSc in biochemistry, biotechnology, or related field.
  • Desirable: PhD in a related discipline.
