We are currently hiring Scientists for our team based in Great Portland Street, London. The successful candidate will conduct rapid onsite testing for multiple Point of Care clinical and/or molecular tests and process blood and other samples from Randox Health or third-party clinics.

Location: 143-149 Great Portland St, London W1W 6QN

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Working Hours/Shifts: 4 on, 4 off: 7pm to 7am and 7am to 7pm alternating shifts. Night shift allowance available.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Routine use of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Perform various analytical procedures, including manual screening and automated methods for clinical diagnostic tests.
  • Prepare and handle samples and diagnostic reagents.
  • Operate automated analytical systems such as Rx Daytona Plus, Rx Imola, and Siemens Immulite XPi.
  • Maintain accurate analytical records and adhere to chain of custody procedures.
  • Routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instruments.
  • Prepare specimens for transportation, ensuring stability during shipment.
  • Record and monitor laboratory and equipment temperatures.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to clinical diagnostic testing.
  • Complete daily Quality Control checks and participate in Quality Audits.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year laboratory-based experience as a Scientist or Lab Analyst.
  • Degree or higher in Biochemistry or a related life science.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work day and night shifts.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with automated analyzers.
  • Experience in a private healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and health and safety regulations, including CoSHH.
