Job summary

Lumanity is seeking an experienced Scientific Director to join the Medical Communications team in the United Kingdom. The role leads the Medical and Scientific Services department, overseeing technically accurate deliverables for Publications/Medical Affairs and serving as a strategic partner to clients.

The position requires oncology expertise, a PhD/MD/PharmD, and 5+ years of medical writing experience in an agency or pharma setting; CMPP is preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, or MD required.
• Significant experience in Oncology is essential.
• Minimum of 5+ years’ medical writing experience in an agency or pharmaceutical company setting.
• CMPP preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities / Position overview

We are seeking an advanced degree life sciences professional to join our Medical Communications team and serve as the Scientific Director. This position falls within our wider Medical Strategy and Communications practice. We focus on strengthening the bridge between clinical and commercial, drawing from our foundation of scientific knowledge, regulatory expertise and industry experience.

The Scientific Director will serve as a leader in and provide strategic insight to the Medical and Scientific Services department and oversee the development of technically accurate and high-quality deliverables for Publications/Medical Affairs accounts. This role will serve as a strategic partner to clients and make sure projects and deliverables are on time and within budget. The Scientific Director will also direct the editorial component of projects, lead a team of medical writers, and ensure the accuracy, quality, and content of all written material. Oncology experience is imperative to be considered for this role.
