Job Description: Scientific Director

As a Scientific Director, you will provide expert high-level medical writing and editorial support, along with scientific and strategic insights to client work.

This is a hands-on role involving content generation for various projects, where you will be the writing and client lead on specific assignments.

You will provide scientific support at congresses and meetings as needed (e.g., slide previews, notes at Advisory Boards to write reports) across the US.

Additionally, you will directly manage, mentor, guide, and coach junior members of the Scientific Services and Client Services teams to ensure excellence in project delivery across all scientific content.

Implementing quality control processes at all project stages, including Therapeutic Lead review, editorial review, and data checking, will be part of your responsibilities.

You will liaise with senior management, writers, editors, client service teams, digital specialists, designers, and artworkers to coordinate project delivery.

To be successful as a Scientific Director, you should have:

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar agency role
• A strong publications background
• Experience working across various therapeutic areas, ideally including Oncology, Haematology, and Urology
• Direct management responsibilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A higher scientific degree (PhD, PharmaD, MD) is preferred
• Residency on the East Coast or Central US
• Excellent writing and editing skills gained in a medical communications agency, with the ability to write in various styles and quickly learn new therapy areas
• A high level of scientific understanding across multiple therapy areas and the ability to rapidly assimilate new information
• Strong project management skills, including organization and time management
