Syngenta is seeking a Scientific Data Engineer to join the Product Safety digital transformation. You will connect scientific experts with data engineering teams, translating research requirements into scalable, production-ready data solutions and guiding data strategy to unlock data value.

You will work near science, deepen technical craft, and take increasing ownership as you grow within a regulated industry.

Qualifications

• Proven data engineering experience with Databricks in cloud platforms (AWS).
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills with version control and CI/CD.
• Solid data modelling knowledge for relational and dimensional data.
• Experience with complex datasets and cross-domain collaboration.
• Consultative, people-facing approach and ability to explain tech to non-tech stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines transforming datasets into analysis-ready formats aligned with FAIR principles.
• Lead Databricks integration within Product Safety, including Delta Lake and Unity Catalog.
• Deliver data product prototypes and partner to production-grade products.
• Bridge scientists and technical teams, clarifying requirements and ensuring business relevance.
• Contribute to data literacy and potentially develop training during growth.
