Your skill and expertise will play a leading role in improving their self-confidence and subject knowledge, ultimately becoming a positive influence during their journey throughout education.

These tutor roles are available throughout Bexley.

If you’re an engaging teacher or tutor, experienced in supporting Science at GCSE level and who would relish the opportunity to work with learners in their own homes or schools delivering tuition on a 1:1 or small group basis, then we’d love to work with you.

Learners referred to us may demonstrate complex learning requirements - distinct experience of working with children who present the following will be advantageous:

  • Special educational needs (SEN) such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and Dyslexia or Dyspraxia
  • Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
  • Childhood trauma

Key responsibilities

  • Create lesson plans and deliver tuition programmes that are designed to engage, inspire and teach.
  • Use of our virtual learning platform to report on attendance, attainment and engagement for all tutoring sessions.
  • Liaise with schools, local authorities, Fleet Education Services or other key stakeholders to inform and support the pupil or learner you are working with.
  • Complete training as required and commit to safeguarding principles.

What we offer

  • Competitive weekly pay through PAYE.
  • Control over your workload; flexible roles that fit around your existing commitments and availability.
  • Support and guidance from our Quality Assurance team who also provide ongoing training opportunities that count towards your CPD.
  • A dedicated Tuition Consultant who will work closely with you to ensure you have as much work as you are able to fulfil, and who will find the right roles for you.

Requirements

  • QTS/QTLS or equivalent professional teaching qualification/Bachelor’s level degree within the subject you teach.
  • Minimum 6 months teaching/tutoring experience.
  • Experience of working with pupils at secondary level essential.
  • Experience working with students with SEN, SEMH learning needs.
  • In-depth knowledge of the national curriculum for Science.
  • A commitment to safeguarding.
  • Must live and be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Must be willing to undertake a full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and referencing process, as well as subscribing to the DBS Update Service.
