Location: Warwickshire Leamington Spa
Hours: Monday Friday, 8:30 AM 3:30 PM (Full-time, Term-time)

About the Role
Smart Education is thrilled to be recruiting for a Qualified SEN Teacher Science & Technology to join a nurturing specialist school for students aged 6 19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to make a lasting impact in a unique, small-group learning environment that promotes emotional engagement, independence, and lifelong learning.
The successful candidate will teach Science and Technology to small groups in a homely setting that supports trust-building and emotional development. We re looking for someone who thrives under pressure, values outdoor learning, and embraces a creative yet target-driven teaching approach.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver engaging Science & Tech lessons tailored to individual needs
• Advocate for outdoor learning, embedding it across the curriculum
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support development
• Monitor, assess, and report on student progress using assessment software
• Support development of IEPs and behaviour plans
• Mark work and provide meaningful feedback aligned with school policy
• Promote British values and students spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and KCSIE
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, parents/carers, and professionals
• Take part in staff meetings, INSET days, moderation, and community engagement
• Stay current with educational research and best practice
• Take ownership of continued professional development and performance reviews
Essential Experience & Skills
• Minimum of 2 years experience supporting children with ASC
• Strong understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
• Experience working collaboratively with professionals and families
• Passion for outdoor learning and working outside traditional classroom settings
• Empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills
• Practical knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
Preferred Qualifications
• Qualified Teacher Status (Primary, Secondary, or SEN)
• Team Teach (or other relevant safe handling training)
• First Aid certification
• Autism Level 1 & 2
