Job Overview

SCIENCE TECHNICIAN (Term-time only) - September 2025

We wish to appoint an experienced and highly skilled Science Technician who will provide support to the Senior Science Technician and Head of Science in undertaking science preparation work. The post holder will assist in practical classes as required, providing technical advice and assistance to both teachers and students. The successful candidate will support the department in the organising and managing of practical resources and will undertake basic maintenance of equipment. Experience and strengths in Chemistry would be particularly desirable, but it is envisaged that the post holder would also provide support occasionally for Physics and Biology as required.

It is essential that the successful candidate has a minimum of GCSE grade A-C in Mathematics and English plus Physics, Biology and Chemistry, a Science dual award, or a related NVQ/BTEC qualification. Biology or Chemistry A-level is also desirable. Previous experience of working as an Education Technician in Biology and Chemistry would be beneficial.
