Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Science Technician with energy, enthusiasm, and a love of Science. The ideal candidate should have good organisational skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team. The successful candidate will work closely with a dedicated, friendly, and dynamic team, and may also be asked to work at our partner school, Sturminster Newton High School. Full training will be provided.

The Successful Candidate Will
  1. Have a genuine passion for Science and supporting the love of Science.
  2. Be able to build relationships quickly, with humility and empathy.
  3. Show respect to others—students and colleagues—in order to get the best out of them.
  4. Be positive, optimistic, caring, kind, and approachable.
  5. Be willing to be immersed in the life of a busy and successful school.
  6. Be able to work on their own initiative or as part of a team.
  7. Use resources, intellect, creativity, and innovation to succeed.

We are looking for someone with high expectations who can motivate and organise. The ideal candidate will go the extra mile and make a substantial and sustained contribution to the school team and beyond. In return, you will join a school and trust full of activity, opportunity, and optimism. The school features a centralised behaviour management system to support staff workload, an on-site Alternative Provision for students who struggle with mainstream lessons, and excellent facilities including a staff gym, industrial hospitality facilities, five ICT suites, a 6th Form and Staff Café, a fully resourced Library, daily staff refreshments, a Steps to Support programme for students, a staff well-being charter, and staff counselling services.
