An independent boarding school in England is seeking a part-time Science Technician to assist in the management of laboratories. The role involves working 16 hours per week during term time and supporting the teaching staff under the Senior Science Technician. Required to start in November 2026 (negotiable), an experienced and enthusiastic Science Technician who will be responsible for helping with day-to-day running of the school laboratories and two preparation rooms. On a day-to-day basis she/he is accountable to the Senior Science Technician (SST) and forms part of the team supporting the teaching staff.
This is a part-time role working 16 hours per week during the School's published term time (33 weeks); the distribution of these hours will be finalised upon appointment.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have relevant experience in an educational environment; formal qualifications are not essential but would be an advantage. We are looking for a candidate who has good oral and written communications skills, is self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision or as a member of a team as circumstances require.
St George's operates its own generous salary scheme and the successful candidate will be auto-enrolled into the School's Pension Scheme, if eligible.
