Job summary

Plume Academy is seeking a part-time Science Technician to join the science department on a permanent basis from September 2026. The role provides full technician support for class practical work, demonstrations and examinations, with responsibilities across physics, chemistry and biology.

The successful applicant will have GCSE Maths and English at grade C or equivalent Level 2, and should be educated to A level standard.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Maths and English at minimum C grade GCSE (grade 4) or equivalent Level 2 qualification.
• Educated to A level standard or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide full technician support to teaching staff for class practical work, demonstrations, assessments and examinations.
• Prepare equipment, chemicals, specimens and other resources as required by science lessons.
• Support the wider functioning of the science faculty and subject areas (physics, chemistry, biology).
• Consult with teaching staff to ensure high-quality teaching and learning in science.
