Job Title: Science Technician

Contract Type: Full-Time / Term-Time Only

Are you passionate about science and education? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where each day brings something new? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to join a vibrant secondary school in Islington from September 2025.

About the Role:

As a Science Technician, you will be a vital member of the Science Department, helping to ensure that practical science lessons run smoothly and safely. You will be responsible for setting up equipment, maintaining laboratory spaces, and supporting both staff and students in delivering high-quality practical experiences across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up scientific equipment and materials for lessons.
  • Support practical demonstrations and activities across all science disciplines.
  • Maintain and clean laboratory equipment and spaces in line with health and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor stock levels and order supplies as required.
  • Safely store and dispose of chemicals and biological specimens.
  • Provide assistance to teachers and students during practical sessions.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a laboratory or school setting is desirable.
  • A-levels (or equivalent) in Science subjects are required; a degree in a scientific field is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and a proactive approach.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures.
  • A genuine interest in supporting the education of young people.
