Science Technician - Barnet - Secondary School - 11 to 16 - £90 - £120 per day salary dependent on experience

About the role - Science Technician

I am currently working with a mixed secondary school in Barnet who are looking for a full-time fixed-term 1-year contract Science Technician to start ASAP. The successful candidate will work closely with the subject lead of Science and the experienced members of the Science department to support growth and progression. As a Science Technician, you will be required to look after laboratory equipment, set up lessons, and support students one-to-one in their overall achievement in Science. You will work closely with the Head of Department and teachers, taking responsibility for KS3 and KS4 pupils' lessons. Their curriculum is rich, creative, and academically rigorous with the aim that all our students become scientifically literate and appreciate the importance of Science in their lives.

About the school - Science Technician

This is a thriving mixed secondary school for pupils aged 11-16 years that opened in September 2013 in Barnet, serving families in the surrounding areas of North London. The school was created to meet the needs and desires of parents, primary school governors, and the local community for a first-choice, non-denominational, coeducational secondary school. The school is significantly over-subscribed, with over 900 applications for entry in September 2020. They became a complete school in September 2017 for the first time, with students in years 7 through to year 11. Their pioneer year group sat their first set of GCSE examinations in the summer of 2018. They have now secured three sets of GCSE results, which confidently place them in the top 10% of all schools nationally. They were graded 'outstanding' by Ofsted in June 2019.
