Job summary

A reputable secondary school in Tameside is seeking a dedicated Science Technician to support pupils' learning and maintain laboratory standards. The role requires excellent organisational and scientific skills, along with a commitment to positively impacting students' lives. Candidates must hold a DBS check or be willing to obtain one and provide two professional references. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, with a salary ranging from £110 to £140 per day depending on experience.

  • You must hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Provide two professional references.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance, preparation and cleaning of laboratory equipment.
  • Organisation and maintenance of efficient storage systems for equipment and materials.
  • Prepare and provide equipment for lessons.
  • Preparation of laboratory solutions.
  • Stock control including preparing lists of replacements.
  • Assist with completing and collating statistical returns.
  • Assist with the maintenance of Science Department administration systems.
  • Reprographic work as required.

Location: Tameside

Job type: Full Time contract, Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm.

Salary: 110 - 140 per day (depending on experience.)

You will be committed to making a positive difference to young people’s lives and in supporting and developing their learning. Your intervention will help enable an outstanding learning environment for their young people, providing the support they need to succeed.

The successful Science Technician will be a committed team player with excellent organisational and scientific skills. You will have the ability to effectively support learning and teaching, and to develop relationships across the school and the community. You must hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one as well as providing two professional references.
