Job summary

Ponteland High School is seeking a Science Technician to join the Science department on Band 3, 37 hours per week during term time plus 10 days. The role supports teachers and contributes to the smooth running of the laboratory.

The successful candidate will be organised, hard-working and flexible, with a commitment to health and safety and safeguarding of students. You will be part of a team of four technicians, playing a key role daily.

We have a vacancy for an organised, hard working and flexible team player to join our successful Science department. Our technicians play a key role in the smooth day to day running of the department and you will join a team of four including one senior technician.

Main responsibilities include:

• Assisting teachers in the Science department when preparing for practical lessons
• Preparing and setting out equipment and materials for lessons
• Promote the awareness of health and safety in the laboratory and show commitment to the safeguarding of our students
• Maintenance of the stocks of science chemicals and equipment.
