The science faculty at Oxford Spires Academy aims to create a culture of inquiry, learning and achievement. Our focus is quality teaching and learning and we are proud to be recognised as an innovative team who work together to develop thought provoking lessons which support our students in achieving excellent outcomes. High quality technical support is pivotal to this work.
Science has become one of the highest achieving subjects in the academy and is a popular choice at A Level. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic science technician with an ability to work alongside our teaching team to inspire, enthuse and engage students in science.
This is an opportunity to work alongside an experienced and award winning (Excellence in STEM Support 2022) technician team. We have an impressive track record of developing our staff including close links with the Science Learning Partnership which provide many opportunities for continued professional development.
We have two potential positions available for full or part time roles within the team, and would therefore encourage applications from those who have an interest in supporting the faculty and a genuine desire to inspire and empower the next generation of scientists.
We appoint on potential as well as experience, and we are committed to nurturing staff development. In return, we offer you a friendly and supportive environment and the chance to make a genuine difference to the amazing young people that make up our academy.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and require all staff and volunteers to share and demonstrate this commitment. The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification and will be subject to the relevant pre-employment checks which will, where applicable, include a health check, an enhanced DBS check, the Children's Barred List check and satisfactory references.
