Science Technician – Secondary School in Maidstone
Start: September 2025 | Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity

Are you a passionate and organised Science Technician based in Maidstone?
Would you like to be part of a hardworking, friendly, and supportive Science team at a popular and well-resourced Secondary School?

We are working with a large, successful secondary school set in beautiful grounds with fantastic facilities, who are looking to welcome a new Science Technician to their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative department and play a vital role in supporting engaging science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for practical lessons
  • Providing technical support up to A-Level in all three sciences
  • Managing stock levels of materials and chemicals, including the annual inventory
  • Ensuring equipment and labs meet Health & Safety standards
  • Cleaning, maintaining and storing apparatus appropriately
  • Supporting teaching staff and working closely with fellow technicians
  • Assisting in chemical spill response and safe waste disposal procedures

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous school lab experience is advantageous, but not essential
  • A Science-related degree is required if you do not have prior school experience
  • Confident using ICT to manage stock or support lessons
  • Reliable, organised, and proactive with excellent teamwork skills
  • A genuine enthusiasm for science and supporting young learners
