Do you have experience as a Science Technician working with Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) students?

Are you confident handling chemicals, equipment, and experiments safely?

Do you enjoy problem-solving and staying one step ahead in a busy environment?

Randstad Education is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Science Technician to join a thriving secondary School. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of engaging and safe Science lessons from Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).

Requirements
  • Experience working in a Science lab, ideally in a School or educational setting
  • Solid understanding of health and safety practices, including COSHH
  • A basic understanding of secondary School Science curriculum (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
  • Confident handling and preparing chemicals, apparatus, and experiments
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Responsibilities
  • Preparing materials and apparatus for Science lessons
  • Setting up and testing equipment in advance of practicals
  • Supporting Teachers during experiments and demonstrations
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organised lab environment
  • Conducting inventory checks and managing stock levels
  • Ordering consumables and equipment as needed
  • Supporting pupils during practicals, where appropriate
  • Liaising with teaching staff to anticipate lesson requirements
  • Keeping risk assessments and safety records up to date
  • Assisting with Science enrichment activities and clubs
