Science Technician - Secondary School - Wandsworth

Long Term Futures are working with a large and high-achieving secondary school in Wandsworth to recruit a Science Technician to join the team from September 2025.
The school is well-equipped with modern laboratories and excellent resources, and places a strong emphasis on practical science learning and student engagement. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teachers and students across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and maintain equipment and materials for practical science lessons
* Support science staff with lesson setup and demonstrations
* Ensure safe storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials in line with COSHH regulations
* Maintain an organised prep room and ensure equipment is in working order
* Assist with classroom displays, lab safety and stocktaking
* Occasionally support students with experiments or provide technical advice during lessons

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Previous experience as a science technician or strong science lab background
* Knowledge of health and safety in a lab setting, including COSHH and risk assessments
* Organised, proactive and reliable, with strong attention to detail
* Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a busy department
* A science qualification or relevant technical training is desirable
