A local education authority in Livingston seeks a motivated Science Technician to provide essential support to teaching staff and students. The role requires commitment to safeguarding under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act, with a working schedule of 36 hours over 41 weeks annually. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for education and development within the school environment.

St Margaret's Academy is a denominational secondary school situated in Livingston, West Lothian. The school has six associated primary schools drawing a comprehensive mix of students and serves the communities of Livingston, Pumpherston, Kirknewton, Polbeth, West Calder, East Calder and Mid Calder. The current school roll is 1100 students with 110 members of teaching and non-teaching staff including those designated to support students with additional learning needs.

The working week shall be Monday - Friday 36 hrs /41 weeks per year.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
