What skills and experience we're looking for

At Leeds Mathematics School (LMaS), we are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic, dynamic and inspirational Science Technician. The role of Science Technician is crucial to ensuring the safe and smooth operation of all aspects of our Chemistry and Physics laboratories. The Science Technician will collect, assemble, prepare, issue, clear away, clean, maintain and store apparatus and other items required for practical lessons or demonstrations or Outreach activities. The Science Technician will keep themselves up to date with, and lead on the implementation of, relevant legislation and guidance, for example CLEAPPS and COSHH.

Potential applicants should have:

• GCSE grade C/4 and above in science or equivalent qualification.
• Experience of working in Science lab in a school environment or of working in Science with young people.
• Experience of working agilely and flexibly, sometimes under pressure, always in confidence.
