Job description

We are seeking a Science Technician to join our dynamic and supportive Science department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen interest in science and a practical, organised approach to support high-quality teaching and learning. Beginning October 2025.

Duties as Science Technician:

  • Prepare and set up equipment, materials, and chemicals for practical lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

  • Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained, and stored safely after use.

  • Support teachers during practical lessons where appropriate.

  • Maintain accurate records of stock and place orders as required.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and carry out risk assessments.

  • Dispose of waste safely and manage chemical and biological substances appropriately.

Ideal Science Technician:

  • Experience working in a laboratory setting (school or industrial).

  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a science lab (CLEAPSS knowledge is desirable).

  • A science-related qualification (A-Level or higher preferred).

  • Good organisational and time management skills as a Science Technician.

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • A proactive attitude and willingness to support the department’s needs.
