About the School:
A secondary school in Hyde is looking to appoint a Science Technician to support the smooth running of their Science department. The successful candidate will assist teaching staff in the preparation, delivery, and clean-up of practical experiments, and ensure that lab safety standards are met.

Key Duties:

Preparing, setting up, and clearing away science apparatus and chemicals

Ensuring safe storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials

Supporting teachers and students during practical sessions

Carrying out routine maintenance of lab equipment

Managing stock levels and ordering supplies

The Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience as a lab technician in a school or industry setting

A good understanding of COSHH and health & safety in laboratories

A science qualification at A-Level or higher (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)

Organised, efficient, and comfortable working independently

The role requires excellent attention to detail and an interest in supporting high-quality STEM education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
