Job summary

ARIA, a UK R&D funding agency, seeks a Science and Technology Lead for Enduring Atmospheric Platforms in London. You will catalyse breakthroughs across aerospace, energy, and communications, guiding programme design, assessment and delivery with a bold, agile team.

You’ll work alongside senior directors to shape the technical strategy, review project proposals, and drive cross-cutting insights that accelerate invention while ensuring rigorous governance and impact across ARIA’s portfolio.

Qualifications

• Experience developing commercially viable, multidisciplinary high-tech systems at the edge of what is possible.
• Ability to translate complex scientific concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with uncrewed airborne platforms development and testing.

Responsibilities

• Shape and deliver a bold programme of research for high altitude platforms.
• Review proposals and assess technical milestones.
• Lead technical discussions in project meetings and reviews.
• Provide evidence-based technical insights to support decisions.
• Co-author white papers and open calls.
• Collaborate with Creator teams to track milestones and drive delivery.
