Job summary

Coombeshead Academy, located in Highweek, invites applications for a Teacher of Science with a possible TLR2a for Physics Lead. You will teach Science across KS3-5, including A-Level Physics, and drive the Physics curriculum with the CTL.

A TLR2a may be available for the Physics Lead role. The position is 1.0 FTE, permanent, with a January 2027 start date and a salary on the MPS/UPS scale plus the potential TLR2a (£3,683).

Qualifications

• Teach Science across KS3-5, including A-Level Physics.
• Lead Physics curriculum development and drive excellence in the department.
• Support CPD and professional growth for Science staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the Physics curriculum with CTL involvement.
• Drive student progress and attainment in Physics.
• Implement robust quality assurance across the department.
• Lead subject-specific CPD and share best practice.
• Carry out other duties to support departmental goals.
