An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a well-established and forward-thinking secondary school in Telford from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent position suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) passionate about inspiring students and fostering a love for scientific exploration.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5 for a suitably qualified candidate. The role involves delivering a high-quality, engaging curriculum that covers Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, whilst encouraging students to develop critical thinking skills and scientific literacy.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and interactive science lessons
Develop and implement schemes of work that cover the core scientific disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and setting achievable targets for improvement
Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to explore scientific concepts
Contribute to curriculum development and the ongoing improvement of the Science department
Support extracurricular activities, including science clubs, enrichment programmes, or trips
Maintain high standards of behaviour and foster a positive learning environment
Person Specification:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
A degree in Science, or a relevant subject, with specialisation in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Strong subject knowledge across the sciences with the ability to teach at both KS3 and KS4
Passion for science education and a commitment to inspiring students of all abilities
Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
A commitment to professional development and reflective teaching practice
