Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our specialist secondary school in Croydon. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator to work with students with special educational needs, delivering a high-quality science curriculum in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging science lessons for students with a range of special educational needs.
- Differentiate lessons to ensure accessibility and understanding for all students.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel confident and motivated to succeed.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO and other staff members.
- Monitor and track student progress, adapting teaching strategies and providing feedback to ensure continued development.
- Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to students' learning and well-being.
- Encourage curiosity and a love for science by making lessons engaging and hands-on.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching science, ideally in a special educational needs (SEN) setting.
- Strong knowledge of science curriculum and the ability to adapt teaching methods for students with diverse needs.
- A creative and patient approach to working with students with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
