Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are supporting an independent SEMH provision in Barking & Dagenham to appoint a Science Teacher for KS3 and KS4. This role welcomes applications from both qualified and unqualified teachers, provided you have long‑term KS3/KS4 science experience.

You will teach small classes (4-6 students) with behaviour mentors, delivering a bespoke, practical, experiment‑based science curriculum in a restorative, trauma‑informed environment. A passionate, resilient approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have KS3/KS4 science teaching experience.
• Experience in SEMH settings is advantageous.
• Ability to design bespoke science curricula.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging science lessons to small classes (4-6 students).

Science Teacher (Qualified or Unqualified) KS3 & KS4 SEMH Provision

If you answered yes to those and you like the sound of connecting young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) with science, this role is for you! SANZA Teaching Agency are supporting an independent provision in the London borough of Barking & Dagenham. The school caters to both primary and secondary aged students whoa re unable to attend mainstream school due to SEMH (social, emotional, mental health) difficulties. They are looking for a science teacher to teach key stage 3 and key stage 4 (KS3 & KS4). Applications from unqualified teachers (without QTS) will be considered, however, you must have long-term experience teaching KS3 and KS4 science.

About the role:

You will teach small classes of students (4-6 students per class). There will be behaviour mentors in each class. You will have a lot of freedom to teach a bespoke science curriculum, allowing for creativity, fun, practical, experiment- based science teaching.

About the school:

The school takes a restorative, therapeutic, trauma- informed approach to teaching and learning. It is small environment, allowing for highly tailored support, with fantastic, highly supportive staff and leadership. Students attending the school all have Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) with Social, Emotional Mental Health needs as their primary need and are not able to recieve the support they need in large, mainstream schools.
