Based in Sussex for over 20 years, HAYS education offers a high-quality supply teaching service, helping schools with day-to-day cover as well as more long-term vacancies. We are dedicated to finding you teaching work to suit your needs and availability, whether you are a science teacher wanting the flexibility of short-term work or the security of a long-term role.

Your new role:

In this role you need to be a strong, resilient teacher, working in welcoming and supportive environments that help students and teachers grow and achieve the best in life. Helping every student find their dream, whilst also giving them the tools and confidence to achieve it.

What you'll need to succeed:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Computer literacy.
  • Confident in delivering a topic/subject to a group.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults.
  • Be enthusiastic when delivering lessons to pupils.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of health & safety.
  • Able to take instructions and willing to learn.
What you’ll get in return:

Working on supply as a science teacher is an excellent way of getting your foot in the door of a school, allowing you to get to know the school and for the school to get to know you. You will benefit from working in a range of primary, secondary, and SEN schools, which can be a pathway to regular, long-term, or possibly permanent work. You will be paid based on your experience and responsibilities, plus you will accrue holiday pay with the option to take it at any time of the year.
