Overview

Applications are invited from inspiring Science teachers (Physics and Biology) to motivate and engage students working towards GCSE and A Level, as well as our younger pupils. The successful candidate would ideally be able to deliver Film Studies A Level or be willing to train to do so. The Science Department at Sherrardswood is a vibrant, collaborative, and high-achieving team, proud of its dynamic teaching and excellent results. We would be delighted to consider applications from experienced teachers and ECTs (Early Career Teachers) alike who are passionate about bringing Science to life in the classroom.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching Science (Physics and Biology) up to GCSE and A Level.
  • Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons in Science and Film Studies.
  • Assessing, recording, and reporting on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils.
  • Setting high expectations for pupils' behaviour, establishing and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Ensuring that the current requirements of examination boards are met.
  • Contributing to after-school clubs and wider school life.
About You
  • A relevant degree in Science (Physics or Biology).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • The ability to teach Science (Physics and Biology) to GCSE and A Level.
  • Evidence of high pupil achievement and progress.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A passion for inspiring young people to explore and enjoy Science.
  • A willingness to teach or train to teach Film Studies A Level.
  • The ability to motivate and engage students to achieve their full potential.
