Job description

Quantum Scholars are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Science Teacher to join an "Outstanding" secondary school in North London. This will be a full-time, permanent position starting in September 2025.

This role will involve teaching Science (across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) to students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience and qualifications. You will be responsible for delivering engaging, challenging, and creative lessons while fostering a love of science in your students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching & Learning: Deliver high-quality, engaging, and interactive Science lessons to students of varying abilities.

  • Curriculum Planning: Develop lesson plans and teaching materials that meet the needs of all learners, ensuring a differentiated approach.

  • Assessment: Track and assess student progress through regular testing, assignments, and homework. Provide clear and constructive feedback to help students achieve their best.

  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment where students are motivated to learn and encouraged to reach their potential.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Science department and other teaching staff to ensure a cohesive curriculum and enhance the teaching and learning experience.

  • Pastoral Care: Support the social and emotional development of students, offering guidance when necessary and contributing to a nurturing school community.

  • Extracurricular Contribution: Get involved in school-wide activities, including after-school clubs, science fairs, and educational trips that support the development of students outside the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • A degree in Science (or a related field) with specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.

  • Proven experience teaching Science at secondary school level.

  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and the ability to teach across all three sciences.

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

  • A passion for science and inspiring students to pursue STEM subjects.

  • The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and be an active member of a team.

  • A commitment to professional development and staying up to date with current educational practices.

  • Must be available to start in September 2025!
