Job Description:

Academics are seeking a passionate Science Teacher with experience of teaching students with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), to join an established SEMH School in New Milton. You will be required to plan and deliver Science to lower level learners/KS3, suitable for both primary or secondary trained teachers.

This is a full-time, term-time contract starting in September. They are open to candidates seeking either a permanent or temp-to-perm position.

The school, based in New Milton, caters to pupils aged 7-16 who find mainstream education challenging. It was rated 'Good' by Ofsted in 2019, with inspectors noting that “Pupils make strong progress during their time at the school and most are able to successfully return to mainstream schools. Many pupils achieve significant improvements in a relatively short period. The carefully crafted culture and curriculum enable many pupils to make strong social and emotional progress.”

The school emphasizes recognizing and overcoming barriers to education through detailed assessments, targeted work, coaching, and self-reflection. They focus on helping students develop social and emotional skills to unlock their learning potential and personal growth, addressing issues like social skills deficits, self-awareness, motivation, self-regulation, and empathy.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering Science lessons tailored to the needs of pupils across the school, including lower-level instruction in various subjects. Experience with teaching children with SEMH needs is essential.

If you are a Science Teacher interested in this opportunity for September and believe you are suited to this role, please apply using the provided link.
