About the School:

On behalf of a dedicated SEN school in Stockport, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Science Teacher to join their team. The school is committed to providing exceptional education and support to secondary-aged students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Their nurturing environment and tailored curriculum aim to empower students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging science lessons across all disciplines, tailored to the individual needs of students with SEMH.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other staff and external professionals.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the social and emotional well-being of all students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with support staff to ensure the effective delivery of interventions and support strategies.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEN education.
Key Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) to secondary-aged students.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH and related strategies for support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
